San Diego County authorities confirmed Thursday they have found pentaerythritol tetranitrate, or PETN, a favorite of al Qaeda bomb-makers that is now the target of new U.S. airport body scans and pat downs.

They also found more hexamethylene triperoxide diamine, or HMTD, in a bottle inside the house, but the two types of homemade explosives were not immediately removed because they are too volatile and the house is too cluttered to negotiate safely, Assistant Sheriff Ed Prendergast said.

Authorities had already recovered 8 or 9 pounds of HMTD, an explosive powder that suicide bombers use, authorities said.

The search of the house also turned up items “suggestive of armed robberies,” Prendergast said in a written statement.

According to the FBI's affadavit, Mohamud considered launching a Mumbai-style attack using small arms: "He said that because he had been a rapper, he could obtain a pistol or AK-47." We were unable to determine Mohamud's Jihadi emcee name, or the potency of his flow.

Feds Investigate Arson At Future Mosque Site - Nashville News Story - WSMV Nashville:

"A piece of construction equipment was set on fire Friday night while others were drenched in gasoline.

According to the Daily News Journal, Islamic Center officials said it appeared the arsonist was scared off during the act, and fled the scene before more damage was done.

Police are investigating to see if it's a hate crime. Back in June, someone beat and broke the sign at the future site off of Veals Road.

Previous to that, someone spray painted the words 'Not Welcome' on the sign.

Right now, there is not enough reported evidence to draw any conclusion of who is behind these illegal acts of private property destruction. Hundreds of miles away in Marietta, GA, an arrest has been made in a Mosque arson there.

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) -- Officials say a 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with setting fire to a Marietta mosque he had attended.

Marietta fire marshal Scott Tucker said Thursday that Tamsir Mendy was arrested Wednesday night and charged with first degree arson at the mosque, which caught fire Monday night. Tucker says Mendy is being held without bond.

Tucker says Mendy describes himself as a devout Muslim who had attended the mosque. Tucker didn't characterize a motive but says it doesn't appear to be a hate crime.

Tucker says the arrest is "a bit of a surprise" to members of the mosque, who had expressed concern that the fire might be hate crime.

Tucker said earlier that the fire did about $100,000 worth of damage.

Bondage Club Arson-Murder Suspect Arrested | FOX 11 News:

An autopsy was pending today on remains of a man in his 50s found after a blaze at a bondage club near Los Angeles International Airport, and a man recently fired by the club was behind bars on suspicion of arson and murder.

The arrested man, David Edward Albert, 53, was booked at 12:37 a.m. today and his bail was set at $1 million, according to inmate records.

The fire was reported at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday at the Passive Arts Studio, 10914 S. La Cienega Blvd., near the east end of an LAX runway. The blaze was declared out about 20 minutes later and a charred body was discovered inside, Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Fred Stowers said.
