"James Eric Fuller, a 63-year-old Democratic activist, was arrested after shouting "You're dead!" at Tucson Tea Party spokesman Trent Humphries, said Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman Jason Ogan. Fuller was shot in the knee and back Jan. 8 when a gunman opened fire, killing six and injuring 13, including Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. 

Fuller, a disabled veteran and former campaign volunteer for Giffords, was charged with making threats, intimidation and disorderly conduct and was involuntarily committed for a psychiatric evaluation, Ogan said.

In an interview with Democracy Now on Thursday, Fuller linked the shooting to conservative leaders associated with the tea party, including Sarah Palin, Fox News commentator Glenn Beck and Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle. 'It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle and the rest got their first target,' Fuller said."

If all in this LA Times story is correct, a Democratic activist, who was shot multiple times by a nutty guy Marxist never associated with the Tea Party, yelled unsolicited threats at a Tea Party person, just like Olbermann and Matthews do on MSDNC.  When do Conservatives do this sort of thing?  How long before we hear this is Sarah Palin's fault too?  Stay classy.

Where was all of this "rapid reaction" when Jared Lee Loughner was harassing people before his shooting rampage? Sheriff Dupnik? Hello?

Fuller gave an interview with the Democracy NOW radio show, in which he said of the Tucson shootings: “It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle, and the rest got their first target.” Presumably he’s not talking about Judge John Roll.

“Their wish for Second Amendment activism has been fulfilled,” Fuller ranted on, “senseless hatred leading to murder, lunatic fringe anarchism, subscribed to by John Boehner, mainstream rebels with vengeance for all, even 9-year-old girls.” I didn’t realize the Second Amendment called for all those things. They must be lurking in one of the penumbras or emanations.

Still does not sound like a Beck or Palin fan.  Did he really manage to leave Rush Limbaugh out of this?  I have not gone to the Democracy NOW transcript to see (just had breakfast and I would like to keep it).

Putting on my "Psychic Suki" ball cap to predict: The Left will claim he suffers from Palin/Beck/Limbaugh fatigue and was engaging in his First Amendment Right to spew death threats at 'fascists'. We all need to understand, the man was shot by a fascist inspired by Sarah Palin.

Suspicious vehicle on the National Mall leads police to close off area - @TBD Latest | TBD.com:

"The National Mall is closed between 4th and 7th streets while authorities investigate a suspicious car that is parked in front of the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum, a U.S. Park Police spokesperson said Wednesday."

The vehicles has been parked in a handicapped spot for two days near the Air and Space Museum.

Update: FOX reported that a handgun and rifle were found in the vehicle as police continue to inspect the contents.

Additional update: An Arizona man has been arrested on gun possession charges related to this incident.  He was in a wheel chair but able to walk.  For his sake, maybe he is connected with Sen. Webb (D-VA) and will get off Scott-free.

Chicago at the Supreme Court, causing Chicago to redo its restrictive gun laws, even the new ones don't pass legal muster, the SAF believes, and has filed a new lawsuit challenging aspects of Chicago's post-McDonald gun laws.

Fairfax County Law Enforcement has a checkered past in Herndon and neighboring Reston.

"HERNDON, Va. (WUSA) -- It's a trick bartenders have performed at Jimmy's Old Town Tavern for 13 years. But on July 24, two bartenders were arrested after performing a fire breathing trick.

'They're more than bartenders. They're entertainers,' says Jimmy Cirrito, bar owner.

Cirrito says after 12:30 a.m. on July 24, the two bartenders performed the trick and then were arrested.

Justin Fedorchak, 29, and Tegee Rogers, 33, are charged with three felonies:

-- Manufacturing and using an explosive device.

-- Setting a fire capable of spreading.

-- Burning or destroying a meeting house.

They were also charged with several misdemeanors by the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department."

A WMAL-630AM radio report stated that the Fire Marshall "received a letter from somebody" who complained.

Several years ago, Jimmy's was the focus of FOX News Network's Judge Napolitano when Fairfax County Police arrested several of Jimmy Cirrito's patrons for public drunkenness while drinking in the bar.  Reports at the time said the police gave field sobriety tests to the guests while still inside the bar. There was some question whether the county police had jurisdiction inside the town limits of Herndon.

Around the time of the questionable Fairfax County actions in Herndon, the same county police force illegally confiscated guns from patrons carrying them openly in Champps of Reston, later returned the handguns, issued an apology, and informed their officers with a memo about Virginia law concerning the carrying of firearms openly in establishments that serve alcohol.

Update: Reason is covering this story now, without the history of Jimmy's vs. Fairfax County authorities.

Series tie-in: This is a good location for John and Suki to visit in a future story. Maybe after a day on the range. In general this would not be an issue in the environment of 2030s Northern Virginia.
