Happy New Year! Did you get a Kindle?

Happy New Year World!

Did you get a Kindle?  If you did why don't you browse some of the books I helped John with :)

Didn't get a Kindle? Get the reader for your PC, iPhone or iPod Touch and browse with that! The Google Books preview links are at the bottom of this post too.

Suki I, the story of how Suki found John and they became an item.  This one is mainly about Suki, her mother and friends, who all help Suki land the man of her dreams.

Set in Arlington, Virginia in the early 2030's (May of a year not revealed) with the most interesting gadgets, communication and toys the near future might bring.  As John says, "No stupid flying cars in my books!  Just realistic cool toys."

Most recreational drugs are legal and smoking in bars is legal in VA too.  They are Libertarians living in a county that is slowly catching up to their political tastes.  Washington, DC is right across the river and even more of a mess than earlier in the century.

Their friends don't know anybody else who wants a marriage without a marriage license, nor anybody else seeking a truly monogamous relationship, other than Suki and John.

Oh, the fashions!  Electrochromic polymer dresses and boots, lovely silks, leather and shoes, shoes, shoes!  Boots too.  Amazing varieties of gourmet food are plentyful.  Lab grown Kobe beef, genetically modified tomatoes, almost anything you can think of today is available in their world.  Muscle cars and trucks for the guys to read about, plus the great sex life Suki and John have for everybody to enjoy.

Suki II: Sunshine Returns, Suki's troubled past comes back to haunt them both.  It begins where Suki I ended, in June of the same year, and ends in December, with a delay in John's birthday because of a crisis.  Suki thinks her past may destroy the relationship!  Bonus, Samantha meets John's son Tag!  Much more about Tag and Samantha is told and more of Suki's history is revealed.  Sunshine drugs and attacks Suki, but John saves her in a unique way.

Ever wonder what a shotgun lesbian wedding would be like in a future where marriage and divorce can be filed electronically?  A peek into that world is revealed in Suki II.  Autonomous cargo planes, greatly expanded communications networks, automated home cleaning, a beautiful limo and more exquisite leather fashions for private as well as public wear.

Government healthcare?  Not for them.  They have private-practice doctors and all of their records are on pulp, rather than on K-Net.

Suki III: Never Let Us End, an ex-girlfriend of John's, Nancy, creates terrible problems for the couple and John is hospitalized for a week.

It begins in December, during John's birthday party, and ends in January, picking up where Suki II ended.

Nancy forces Suki to hypnotize John and makes Suki do awful things under the influence of a powerful mediction.  Suki has to defend John from three attackers!  Suki, her mother, Jung, along with their doctors bring John back to health, in a private hospital.  Suki becomes closer friends with John's best friend, Jackie, and they prepare for their first vacation in years.

The 1960 Polara custom limo plays a starring role.  More of John's past is revealed.  More interesting gadgets too, for inside and outside the bedroom.  One of my favorite parts, Suki has a full length baby seal fur coat (lab grown clone fur).

Suki IV: Finally a Vacation (War With Iran), the couple finally gets a vacation and chooses a safe place, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.  It begins where Suki III ends, in January and continues through Valentine's Day.  Just when they think they can relax, the government needs them to help as consultants to defeat Iran in the surprise attack lead by Israel.  Tag is already in Iran as a liaison to the Israeli Defense Forces.

Suki buys her first shotgun and John teaches her how to shoot Trap and Skeet.

Ever wonder what you would do if you were locked in a Secure Compartmentalized Information Facility (SCIF), 12 hours per day, with the love of your life?  Take a peek in Suki IV.

Suki V: The Collection, is all four of the books listed above edited into one.  Slightly cheaper than getting all four separately too!  John does note where each of the origional books begins, but it is edited to flow like one novel, with redundant passages edited.

Suki V: The Collection is now available in paperback.  Holiday discount code for $10 off the paperback edition is  GHXYSXR5, only from CreateSpace.com.  Sorry, still $1 more than the Kindle edition.  This discount expires at the end of 2009.

Also on Kindle, Sarah wrote a fan fiction story off of the series: John and Suki: Vacation Fun.  The couple is kidnapped in Florida by a brutal pair who want to sell the knowledge John and Suki have to the Iranians, Russians and Venezuelans.  The couple's minds are not the only thing they are interested in.  John and Suki are both trained to obey without question or hesitation.  Suki is trained to kill with a unique weapon!

Li'l ol' me wrote a story following on Sarah's story, Suki: Settling the Score.  After being rescued, John and Suki are finally released from their month-long US government debriefing, but they still have problems.  Severe behavior problems, continuing to act as they were trained by Mike and Honey, their kidnappers in Sarah's story.  They need help, but Suki is slow to agree to it until John exercises his full dominance over her, after they have both done things that would normally end their relationship.

The baby seal fur coat reappears in a totally different setting than one would expect.  Plus some interesting disguise techniques, like contacts with view screens and data, natural skin feel masks, body makeup and instantaneous hair changing products.

Also, John and Suki finally agree to get pets, a black kitten and a grey kitten, one for each home: Dark Helmet and Smoke.

Happy New Year!

All three Suki books can be browsed on Google Books. Suki II is fully readable and downloadable there. Suki I and Suki III are 30% browsable.

Links at the Project Site.

Suki IV is about 50% complete. The coalition is just now crossing the Iranian border and most of the Iranian civilian leadership has been captured or killed.

New Suki Project Website

Just the books.
http://sites.google.com/site/sukiprojectsite/

Since http://www.sukisite.com/ ended up being the background of global society in Suki's time and world, I decided to try a cleaner, neater approach.

The new site is the books, ordering information, descriptions and will have links to the character bios. Cover art for all of the books will be posted there as it is completed.

Suki's Diagnosis

A Lieutenant Colonel smoking buddy of mine did an informal diagnosis of Suki, the fictional character in my book series. Cool stuff. He did it by reading a little of the books, from how I described the character and the back story, other elements of the character that are not spelled out in the books. Suki is recovering from Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

By the way, that is another reason why I would not be involved with Suki if she were a real person. I did not know what it was called, but I know the signs and I don't hang around women like that long. I had a "fixer-upper" who was well over the 'borderline,' for about five years. Jeff recommends the book I Hate You, Don't Leave Me for people, like me, who want to be able to identify people like this and avoid them a bit quicker. Also for people who know someone with BPD to learn how to help them.

Anyway, according to Jeff, the disorder is manageable, but not truly curable. The cool thing about writing future fiction, I can make it curable and Suki is pretty much done with it by the end of Suki III.

In the character Suki's case, she has been getting very good treatment for her "personality flaws" for several years before meeting John. Instead of blaming others, or "bad luck" for the drama in her life, she now accepts the blame for her actions. Usually she shoulders too much of the blame, and has to work on that. She finally stops trying to manipulate John's feelings near the end of Suki III, after John finally learns how to properly correct her in Suki II.

I really did not know I was writing a near textbook case and the character became that way through an odd series of events. I have written about some of this before on this blog and on the website. I began with the characters John and Suki being very close to the same age. Then I was advised to make Suki younger to appeal to more people, so her mother Jung became the character I would be most attracted to if she were real and that is still true.

Next, with the help of my blogger buddy, who writes here under the Suki handle, we gave Suki some appealing qualities, but a too perfect character is not truly appealing. So she had to have some unappealing qualities and the things that typically drive me away from some of the women I have been out with came flowing in. I used to assign those traits to immaturity that can appear in any person of any age, but I know a little more now.

When Suki and John meet, in Suki I, she still has an impulsiveness when she is not around her mother or her best friends. She knows her best friends do not tolerate that, so she never behaves that way around them. Her mother and therapist are always quick to correct her about any hint of impulsiveness they detect. Her best friends are her best friends because they are the type of people her therapist told her to seek out for her development.

Items that match the symptoms or events for BPD:

Traumatic experience in her youth: Father died when she was 10, body never recovered from airliner crash in the Pacific.

Recreational drug abuse for a period longer that six months.

Risky/deviant sexual behavior for longer than six months.

Impulsive decisions that resulted in "life wrecking" dramatic results.

Former denial of her actions resulting in dramatic, negative events.

Manipulative behavior.

Several other things, brings her over 6/10 of positive hits on symptoms/signs.

By the time of Suki III, like I stated above, Suki has developed into a mature, thoughtful woman. She and John are an inseparable couple and she gets to prove herself from the middle of the book to the end. These changes make her character a lot more fun to write, much more positive.

As soon as the beta readers are done, Suki III: Never Let Us End will be ready for purchase.

Final on John's speaking Moroccan Arabic in Suki III: Never Let Us End

From pages 264/265 of the current version"

“Hi Hammou!” Suki greets the waiter.

“Marhaban bikum sayed John, anisa Suki”

“M`ssa Elkhayer Hammou, jib liya karaa dyal rouge tkon r`khisa, wahed ezzina dyal Diamas D'Isle Oysters , wahed ezzina dyal Blue Point, o wahed ezzina dyal clams khadra ila smehti.”
"wakha a ssi John, yak ma baghi tzid chi hajakhra ?chi kotlit?, ola chi Lobster?”

“hadi chi Baraka had ellila”

"Which Arabic was that, John?"

"Moroccan, I learned it in Casablanca, when I was there for about six months. None of my Lebanese Arabic worked, so I had to learn."

Hammou returns with the order, “hak assi John oanisa Suki”

“chorkran Hammou.”

“Hammou, if the guys at the bar spot us please tell them we need just need quiet time and are not avoiding them? John has been in the hospital all week.”

“Of course Miss Suki and I shall say hello to Big D when you leave. I will make quiet, as long as you like.”

“Thank you Hammou. Okay John, from your ordering, I picked out the things that are the same across languages, Diamas D'Isle Oysters, these?” She points and John nods yes. “Blue Point Oysters and the clams but did not know they would be raw, something about lobster too. I thought you would be starving for a steak?”

“The lobster was a suggestion from Hammou. If I wanted steak you would be making it or we would be at Morton’s, sweetheart, both of you know what medium rare is,” John smiles and gives his lady a kiss on the cheek. “Let’s see how we feel after this first bottle of wine before we try a second? Not sure how it . . .”

Suki III: Never Let Us End is almost finished

Suki III: Never Let Us End is almost finished and will be posted to Amazon for Kindle as well as E-Junkies.com as soon as my volunter proofers and editors finish looking at it.

In this one, an ex lover of John's appears and attempts to cause major trouble for John and Suki. Nancy was introduced in Suki II: Sunshine Returns as the secretary for Suki's therapist (Doctor DiMarco, who became John's therapist and the couple's relationship therapist).

Suki III contains some graphic sexual assault scenes, forced drugging of them both, romantic love scenes between John and Suki, cool cars and some new gadgets.

Oh, Suki gets to save both of their lives in this one and she is forced to rapidly mature into a mentally adult woman.
