Of Cowering White Liberals and the most Juvenile Religious Segment Ever Invented

(Updates at the end)
First, they came for the people who opposed a bunch of questionable characters building a Mosque at Ground Zero, Manhattan and all who objected were labeled 'racists.'

Really? That was first? Well, pretty close to first. Next they came for the Florida minister planning a bonfire of Korans.  That one has to be second, nothing else of note was between.

This is the face of Islam under siege in a post 9/11 world.  This is a siege? According to some, yes. Let us not forget that Americans may be slaughtered if the oxidization process of this paper pile is accelerated, according to a high-ranking uniformed liberal. Why? Because Middle-East and Central Asian Muslims are the biggest babies on earth, that's why.

Of course, this is the way any religious person would act when their holy books are intentionally destroyed, right?  Hows about we takes a look at a few other items:

North Carolina Church burned non-King James Bibles in 2009. What was the body count from that? Zero?

How about a burning Bible video from 2007 -

What? Nothing has happened with that? No way!

Burning bible video from 2008 must have ruffles some feathers of the religion and gun clutching set.

No?
Another video of Bible burning, this one with a catchy title that should have swept the internet like wildfire:

Lots of casualties from that one?

Maybe Bible burning is in a Holy loophole somewhere, like burning soiled American flags. Surely heads would roll and body parts would fly if someone shot a bible with a gun, right?

Wrong. No marching in the streets, no fits, no fights. Nothing like when Newsweek lied and people died.

So, just what is all this fuss about, especially from religion hating liberals? Quite simply, Western White liberals are a bunch of fradiae-cat pansies that like to lump people together in odd categories.  To them, all Asians are yellow, all Republicans are White, all Muslims are "people of color" and everybody who is not White and/or Christian is oppressed by White Christians. We can skip the Jews for a moment until the liberals need some mysterious bully to explain why there is no actual evidence for their position.

A big one with liberals is Africa being a nation, rather than a continent. At least that is the way they use "African" much of the time, the same way everybody else uses "Irish".  This is a key concept to grasp, since they seem to think all Muslims are from the Middle-East.  Maybe those are the only Muslims liberals care about, making the rest invisible. Actually, they are not invisible. They just aren't causing trouble like the Middle-East Muslims.

Something both Rush Limbaugh and David Horowitz have observed over the years, the left really does not care who their allies are, as long as those allies hate either America or Western Civilization.  Thus, the bomb making, Jew exterminating, USA attacking, French car burning Muslims are pals of the liberal. And by liberal, I do not mean people like me and my friends who enjoy erotica, wish for the day when drugs are legal (even if we don't plan on doing any) and would rather not get married before enjoying sex with others.  I am talking about the liberal left, Socialistic, Nazis with speech codes and an unquenchable self-hate for their own countries.

What about these "moderate Muslims" we all keep hearing about?  Those would be the ones that Arab Muslims call "monkeys" and go around killing in greater numbers than they kill non-Muslims.

Back to the White liberal, another pet thought of theirs is that everybody in the South USA owns a gun (or arsenal), a Confederate flag, goes to Church, lives in a trailer, Southern cities are trailer parks, makes moonshine, is always barefoot unless at a wedding, married a close relative and prefers to have sex with a willing sibling. If someone meeting that description is not located in the South, then they are just a redneck.  There must be a lot of rednecks at Reason magazine, the biggest online and print advocate of close-relative intercourse.

Remember all those riots when Confederate flags were burned? That's okay, I don't either. The liberal will tell us that never happens, even though it does. Don't miss the next event! Here is an article about it from the Leftist mind. See Red State for a sane take on that one. I hope someone from the press is keeping the body count stats beginning Sunday.

Some think that burning an American flag and flying a Confederate flag are "similar in many ways" (my count of similarities is zero, not quite the same as many, IANAL).

So, enlightened, delicate readers, when will burning the Koran be as popular as burning the Bible? When will burning the Koran be as 'patriotic' as burning flags?

Been to any good stonings lately? Discuss.

Update 09/09/10:
From Slashdot -
theodp writes"In response to a complaint, Rackspace has shut down the websites of the Dove World Outreach Center, a small 50-member church which has received national and international criticism for a planned book burning of the Quran on the anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. The center 'violated the hate-speech provision of our acceptable-use policy,' explained Rackspace spokesman Dan Goodgame. 'This is not a constitutional issue. This is a contract issue,' said Goodgame, who added he did not know how long it had hosted the church's sites. Not quite the same thing, but would Kurt Westergaard's cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad also violate Rackspace's AUP? How about Christopher Hitchens' Slate articles? Could articles from one-time Rackspace poster child The Onion pass muster?"

"Do you have an Asian fetish?" and other silly questions.

Someone who just started reading Suki With A Twist: Part One asked me if I had an "Asian fetish". I hadn't heard that one in a while. However I have written extensively about how we developed the character. I guess it's time to cover it again and I am doing this without looking back at what I wrote over one year ago, when Suki I, the first story in the first series, was published.

So, the way the process went, I wanted my female character to be heroic and exotic.  I prefer women with dark hair and eyes, especially fond of long straight hair. I also like taller women. Advanced intelligence is great, so I wanted her to be well educated and have decent common sense too. That was the baseline I began working from, for the first series.

When I started describing the character to Danielle, who jumped into the roles of beta reader and editor, she killed the idea of her being 6' tall.  The rest of the character development was done by me and my blog partner who uses the Suki handle in association with the books. We settled on 5' 6", 110-120, fit, dark eyes, straight dark hair to butt.

Next item was education. She needed to be smart and Sci-Fi readers love well educated women (as I do) so we began at the end, PhD from MIT in Robotics. To avoid technology errors in my story spinning, she was to stay in theoretical research for corporations and academic institutions.  Working back from that, Bionics sounded like a good story match and I found a top institution in Tokyo for that, the Tokyo University of Technology.  For her BS, I was thinking Chemistry, but Suki (character developer) overruled me. She had already committed to partner in the project and Chemistry was too close to her background for her comfort. Mathematics became the replacement.  Note: in the Suki With A Twist series I take all of this education away from her and her work is much different.

Another item was her cultural background. I like a Southeastern USA accent and my character developer is from the Richmond, Virginia area. We made her from that area and I had someone right there on the team to help with location specific details if needed as the series progressed. To go along with her intelligence, we gave her some good hobbies. Archery, wood carving, etc. I let my character developer pick her language list, which is pretty much the ones she wanted to learn but never did.

Before we decided on her parents (if they were still alive, their backgrounds, etc.) we had to pick a race. With long dark hair and dark eyes, her lineage could be from almost anywhere. A Google Images search for those traits came up overwhelmingly with images of East Asian women. Suki would be East Asian.

In order to direct the reader to the specific features, I did a little more research and decided a combination of Vietnamese, Thai and Korean would work. So we made her father Vietnamese, her mother Thai and Korean. My development partner did not want the character to be an orphan, or adopted. She really wanted Suki to know her parents, so I named the mother Jung and did a full character bio on her too. One thing for some of the behavior problems I gave the character, they commonly stem from a pre-puberty traumatic event. So Suki's father died in a commercial airliner crash in the Pacific when Suki was around ten years old.

Forgot if the Suki name was in my head to begin with or if I picked it after we had her fully described, but it is a name I have liked for decades. It is common throughout Eastern Asia and in the UK. Contrary to the people who launch into the Japanese legend of the same name, hers has nothing to do with Japan.  In the story, she gets it because her mother liked it when she was a girl in Thailand. In the later books, it is revealed that Jung wanted her daughter to be mononameonic and had to argue with the hospital staff over her naming.

Most of the above is true for the second series, other than where I noted her education.  One of the complaints from women was that the male lead was not "heroic enough" and Suki needed to be "dirtier".  When Avatar came out I got a good laugh at those folks from the way Neytiri saves Jake six times before he saves Pandora. Anyway, for the new series, I changed Suki to a very intelligent high school graduate, knowledgeable on current events, self educated in multiple languages and an incredibly talented full-service professional party companion.

As if this was not long enough already, I had a bit of tedium from someone who bought one of the books on Kindle. Numerous times, he has insisted that Suki is a real person. If she is and if there is someone out there just like the character that at least three people had a hand in making up, I have never met her. No introduction necessary, because the character's behavior is nothing like anything I want to put up with. Next, he insists that Suki is my "dream girl". I think I just covered that.

Lately, he mentioned having problems reading it because he thinks he is invading my fantasies. I really do not understand that one (even spelled the word f i c t i o n for him) and the objective is to have interesting scenes. The couple's scenes get much more interesting than I want to experience. For example, if anybody thinks I would want a woman I was dating to be kidnapped in my own home by her female ex-lover, drugged and raped by her and forced into a lesbian marriage to have her wealth stolen from her, they are nuts. Seek therapy. The cars? I love those, I love describing them and I have not owned a single one that appear in my stories. Would I take one? Certainly, the whole fleet, even the Polara limo!

Experience the adventure of John and Suki!
Suki is an attractive, single young professional Libertarian, performing advanced technology research and looking for a bright, nice, acceptable boyfriend. Most of the time she works in her mother’s party planning office as Project Manager/Executive Secretary and all-around technology administrator.

Suki has an advanced education by 2032 standards, but it is not much more advanced that the top 25% of her peers from high school who also earned PhDs. She started college early, like many of her high school classmates.

She has experimented with many things, common for a woman of her time, for most anybody of her age, and she is growing out of that.

John is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, former defense contractor, current classic car creator and "small L libertarian." He has a comfortable condominium, a nice one-man-operation garage, one true best friend and never seems to meet a stranger.

He is a bit of a solitary man. After his son became a military lawyer and “left the nest”, John started tutoring subjects that he had taught his son and had tutored while he was in college, as a productive distraction from his business. It is also something he can do one-on-one, rather than having to deal with large groups.

John prefers women his own age or older and would be thrilled if he finds a woman who just wants to be nice to him.

Atlas Shrugged is now more popular abroad than in the USA.

The USA is recovering from the hyperinflation of the early part of the century. The rest of the world is rapidly adopting the free market and the rule of law.

Northern Virginia is slowly leaning toward libertarian style laws, taxes and freedoms, much to the dislike of the establishment in Washington, DC, right across the river.

In Virginia, the smoking policy in businesses is set by the owner. So is the concealed weapons carry policy. DC is the opposite.

Federal recreational drug laws have been all but eliminated. Virginia has eliminated most of theirs. Prostitution laws are largely ignored in cities across the country. In Virgina, as long as it is off the street it is tolerated. DC continues to issue tickets for suspected prostitution in public areas.

BDSM is more common in fashion and in commercial establishment themes, but the practice still has a slight stigma.

The story is set in the early 2030s. For more details about the background, see SukiSite.  Order the paperbacks and other formats.

Suki II: Sunshine Returns follows the couple through their brutal kidnapping and escape from one of Suki's ex-lovers and her best friend. Sunshine and Patricia misuse powerful drugs against the couple to force Suki's marriage to Sunshine in order to steal her wealth through the court system. The modernized court system, with electronic marriage and divorce systems, aids them in their ploy. John saves the day, but there is another problem. Suki's knowledge of biometric identification systems could be exploited for financial gain by their attackers. John's son, Tag, and Suki's best friend, Samantha, meet and hit it off immediately.
Suki III: Never Let Us End reveals John, his history and background when it comes back to threaten the couple. His ex-girlfriend Nancy discovers his new relationship with Suki and decides she wants John back. She is the secretary to the couple's therapist and has access to certain chemicals that are still controlled. In an elaborate plot to sever John and Suki's relationship, Nancy takes control of Suki and uses Suki's hypnosis skill to take control of John. Suki's expert marksmanship skill saves John's life and her experience with recreational drugs is key to his recovery.

Suki IV: Finally A Vacation (War With Iran) begins quietly enough with the couple taking a long vacation, at the insistence of their therapist and Suki's mother, Jung. Suki has a few surprises in store for him. The pilots of their charter flight were friends of John's late father, Josef, and their lunch companions are allied generals, both friends of John since they were all young Lieutenants. Suki gets to hear more about John's antics from when he was her age. As they make their way to the safety of Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, John notices the military activity is not normal. Something big is going on and his son has just arrived in Tel Aviv. The world has not been at war since Suki was a child and John was fighting the battles. John selected Eglin for its superior safety and excellent trap and skeet ranges. It is also the 2030s headquarters of a Joint Logistics Command that needs the assistance of people with John and Suki's backgrounds in Logistics and Biometrics to defeat the automated systems Iran uses.

Its not all war and SCIF romance. After the invasion begins, the couple is free to leave and travels to Maynardville, Tennessee for Suki to meet John's mother and Suki gets a last name, for the first time in her life.

After checking out Suki V: The Collection, give the new series, Suki With A Twist: Part One (An Alternate Future), a try. Paperback or Kindle.

Fourth Hand Smoke Thread at Reason

SugarFree got a good discussion going in response to this BBC story.

SugarFree|2.9.10 @ 8:59AM|

"Third-hand smoke" article in the NYT a year ago. BBC is johnny come superlately.
I shall recycle my comment:
I'm deathly afraid of fourth-hand smoke, which is the use by blog comment avatar of virtual tobacco products. And fifth-hand smoke, which is watching a movie, reading a book, or listening to a song about tobacco products. And sixth-hand smoke, which reading a review of any movie, book, or song that mentions tobacco products.

I have a Federal grant to discover seventh-hand smoke and how to combat it.

Johnny Longtorso|2.9.10 @ 9:12AM|

Every breath you take contains at least one molecule of air exhaled by Sharon Stone when she was smoking and flashing her junk.

Suki|2.9.10 @ 9:28AM|

Wasn't that a Sting song?

Fist of Etiquette|2.9.10 @ 9:19AM|

And fifth-hand smoke, which is watching a movie, reading a book, or listening to a song about tobacco products.
And I will peer-review your previous findings by recycling a comment of my own about Weaver lighting up in the movie Avatar:
I think there's a valid concern here. Children watching Avatar in 3D are going to see Ripley seemingly puffing on a cig right next to them in the theater. And we all know that virtual secondhand smoke is exactly as dangerous as the real thing.

SugarFree|2.9.10 @ 9:29AM|

Woo! Peer-review! Now Chony has to believe everything I say.

Suki|2.9.10 @ 9:40AM|

Smoking thread = illustrated blog worthy.
Thank you!

bob dole|2.9.10 @ 9:36AM|

Eagerly awaiting a new report on first-derivative hand smoke.
And shouldn't this really have been about gripping-hand smoke?

Read the rest here.

Since Chony was brought up, some of these images are "special" girls.
