Interesting that the US policy toward the Iranian uprising two years ago was to keep quiet, not completely quiet as President Obama said that interfering in Iran's internal affairs was a bad idea.  Now, another US Ally in the area is running for cover: AlJazeera: Jordan's King Abdullah dismisses government, names new PM admit protests

Don't expect the same thing from Libya and Saudi Arabia.  The Saudis will probably ignore Obama when he tells them to get some protests going, or let them get underway.  One of their famous protesters, Osama bin Laden, was booted from the country decades ago and one really can't blame the Saudi ruling family for not wanting more of the same in their streets.

If these early trends continue, Hamas/Muslim Brotherhood/CAIR will be the majority rulers in North Africa/Arab Peninsula with the bizarre situation of Libya, Israel, and Saudi Arabia as outposts resisting the takeover.

Hamas is NPR's Only Ally

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is the public relations front group for Hamas.  One of their representatives defends the National Public Radio reasons for firing Juan Williams.

We do not live in the Libertopian world that many of us write about.  I am all for at-will employment and canning someone for any reason the employer wishes.  However, there are some possible current-world legal issues involved here.  CAIR is part of the terrorist organization Hamas and there are some questions about their influence on the NPR decision to fire Williams.  Foreign agents are not supposed to do that.

Our convoluted labor laws open a whole other can of worms.  NPR CEO Vivian Schiller came up with this gem: Juan Williams should have kept his feelings about Muslims between himself and "his psychiatrist or his publicist." Of course, she later backpedaled from this possible violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Her callous remarks were in a prepared statement for the Atlanta Press Club, not some offhand remark while joking around with a fellow traveler.

There is some question who al-Awlaki was lunching with.  The Army denies that it was them, citing no record of him as a guest.  The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) may have been the host.

Regular readers of this blog know New Mexico's very own Anwar al-Awlaki as the terrorism career adviser to Army Major Malik Nadal Hasan, the infamous Fort Hood shooter and several others.  The Obama administration released Al-Awlaki's name as the first American on a CIA capture or kill list several months ago.  He is believed to be living in Yemen.

Director Oliver Stone belittled the Holocaust during a shocking interview (caution, pay-wall) with the Sunday Times today, claiming that America's focus on the Jewish massacre was a product of the "Jewish domination of the media."

The director also defended Hitler and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and railed against the "powerful lobby" of Jews in America.
