Ready, Fire, Aim

Finally had time to make a post and Jesse beat me to the ones I was going to share, so check out the discussion at Reason's Hit & Run.

What I was going to post:
Obamatons to use military tribunals for KSM and other terrorists.  This after we were lectured for weeks how we needed to show the world that our legal system was superior and then hang the terrorists, no matter what the outcome.
Reason's mention:
The White House is reportedly close to reversing itself on whether to try Khalid Sheik Mohammed in a civilian court.

And this, terrorist at the Pentagon was a 9/11 truther and got busted for a little pot too.
Reason's mention:
shootout breaks out at the Pentagon.

Poor, Downtrodden Terrorist News

Amy Alkon has some great comments and her readers offer some too.

From her linked article in the Independent: Abdulmutallab, 23, had lived a gilded life, and, for the three years he studied in London, he stayed in a £2m flat.

Jesse Walker has this at Reason:

Security Theater: A New Show Opens In Detroit

With the Bruce Schneier money quote: Only two things have made flying safer [since 9/11]: the reinforcement of cockpit doors, and the fact that passengers know now to resist hijackers.

Also at Reason, Tim Cavanaugh with:

Open Thread: TSA To Keep Us Safe From Nigerian Terrorists, Bankers' Sons, 419 Scammers

Since everybody seems to want to talk about the latest inTransportation Safety Administration foolproofitude, here's your chance.
Possible topics:
Liquids banned. Solids banned. Will gases be banned next?
If you're not allowed to keep anything on your lap, do barf bags and in-flight magazines become attractive nuisances?

Other reports mention that Abdulmutallab hid his PETN explosives in his underwear.
