Washington, DC: Featured City in 'Inspire' Magazine, followed by Bar Attack

Washington, DC is again in the spotlight as a "must hit" destination in yet another publication, Inspire, the glossy face of the Al Qaeda network.  The fall edition also features 'inspirational' words from US Army Major Malik Nadal Hasan's personal imam, New Mexico's very own Anwar al-Awlaki.

Terror threat to restaurants as Al Qaeda calls for attacks on government workers in D.C.:
"WASHINGTON - The terror group tied to the Ft. Hood killings and the Christmas Day undies airbomber urge wannabe American jihadis to open fire on crowded restaurants in the nation's capital to massacre U.S. government workers.

The advice appears in 'Inspire,' the latest issue of a slick propaganda publication by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, Osama Bin Laden's franchise in Yemen.

'A random hit at a crowded restaurant in Washington, D.C., at lunch hour might end up knocking out a few government employees,' Yahya Ibrahim writes in the 74-page jihadi how-to magazine.

'Targeting such employees is paramount and the location would also give the operation additional media attention,' Ibrahim added."

Following the fanfare of the Islamic answer to Mother Jones, Tap and the Anarchist's Cookbook, all rolled into one, Ali Ahmed Mohammed decided to make some news of his own by throwing a brick through the window of DC9, a nightclub in Northwest Washington, DC after being denied entry when a concert was ending.

Nightclub owner, 4 others charged in beating

WASHINGTON (AP) — A nightclub owner and four employees have been charged with beating a man to death after he threw a brick through the club's window, in a case of what D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier called "vigilante justice."

Ali Ahmed Mohammed, 27, of Silver Spring, Md., was denied entry to the DC9 nightclub along the U Street corridor around 2:30 a.m. Friday, Lanier said, but he returned to throw a brick through the window.

That's when the club owner and four employees chased Mohammed down the block, then tackled and beat him, police said. When officers arrived, all five men were still on the scene and Mohammed was in critical condition, Lanier said. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

DC9 manager KT Robeson told TBD that he saw the men chase Mohammed and subdue him, but not in a violent way.
"Who beats someone up and then calls the cops?" Robeson asked. "That's ridiculous."
Other representatives of the club declined further comment.
NBC affiliate coverage broadcast a relative of the 27 year old Silver Spring, Maryland man asking why someone his age had to die.  I will ask, why does someone his age throw bricks through windows of nightclubs?  He was reported to be a Howard University student.  No major media source has made a connection between Inspire magazine and Ali Ahmed Mohammed, nor have they mentioned his religious leanings.

The DC Chief of Police called the incident "vigilante justice".
