Gunshots Fired at University of Texas

Gunshots Fired at University of Texas:
"AUSTIN, Texas - Gunshots have been fired on the University of Texas campus in Austin after an initial report of someone bringing a gun to one of the libraries. The man who brought the gun has apparently killed himself.

A spokeswoman for UT police said there were reports of someone bringing a gun to the Perry-Castaneda Library, which is the main library in the intersection of East 21st Street and Speedway.

KTBC reporter Jenni Lee said Tuesday morning the man with the gun shot himself to death and the Red McCombs School of Business was placed on lock down. UT police found a boy on the 6th floor of the library.

Students, especially in the nearby Jester Center dormitory, were recommended to stay in place and lock their doors, according to a message posted on the UT website."

Chicago man charged in alleged terrorism plot(2) (OneNewsNow.com)

Chicago man charged in alleged terrorism plot(2) (OneNewsNow.com)

Federal prosecutors say a 26-year-old Chicago man was plotting to go to Somalia to become a suicide bomber with al-Qaida.
Shaker Masri (shah-KEER' MAHZ'-ree) was charged Wednesday with attempting to aid a terrorist organization and use a weapon of mass destruction outside the United States.

Chicago and Alabama connections, but nothing for Buffalo, New Mexico or Fairfax County, VA. Time will tell.

Austin Leftist Radical with Airplane

At the Reason blog, Shannon Love categorizes suicide pilot Joseph Andrew Stack perfectly as someone from the left.

Shannon Love|2.18.10 @ 3:37PM|
Actually, if you read the manifesto, you see that he is not upset at big government itself but that big government never helps him.
He whines and whines about how the government, big business, his accountant, etc in short anyone but him have screwed him over and refused to help. He whines and whines and whines that government helps out everyone BUT him and his grievance isn't that the government is invasive but that it is not invasive in his favor.
He seemed perfectly happy to feed at the public trough when the military was pumping money into aerospace in southern California and he was pissed off that when the Cold War finished and his gravy train ended that the government didn't charge in a make everything better.
He bitches that he came to Austin and couldn't compete against the business that already existed. Bitching that others outcompete you and that the government should make sure you get a fair shot in business is not a libertarian point of view.
This guy never even had a thought about personal responsibility and self-reliance.
He's not a libertarian/classical-liberal. He's a greedy little piglet who is angry that the bigger piglets pushed him off the teat he felt his by divine right.

How anybody can read what he wrote as "teabagger," Libertarian or anything like it is laughable.  As Shannon says, his whine is that the government wasn't giving him enough money.

Read his screed here.  He sounds like a ladyboy, so enjoy the picture above.

The President is Dead

President Abraham Lincoln's suicide attempt has proven fatal. He was pronounced dead at 7:22 this AM in the Peterson House, across the street from Ford's Theater.  Both are loyal advertisers to this paper.

Rumors of a murder conspiracy were quickly silenced by Surgeon General of the United States Army Dr. Joseph K. Barnes, who reassured all that the angle of entry was consistent with a suicide attempt by pistol.

A search is on for thespian, John Wilkes Booth, the only unaccounted for eyewitness.

Officer John Frederick Parker is also unaccounted for, despite a search of nearby houses of prostitution.

President Attempts Suicide!

The Objectivist Free Press
Just the Facts, since AD 66

A Sad Good Friday
by John Tagliaferro

President Abraham Lincoln is being treated in a secret, undisclosed, boarding house until he can be safely moved back to the White House for further treatment.  He and his wife, Mary Todd, were attending a performance of Our American Cousin at Ford's Theater, a frequent advertiser in this paper.

When interviewed, an upset and flamboyant thespian,  John Wilkes Booth, said he tried to thwart the attempt.  However, the President tossed him from the balcony box before Booth could wrestle the pistol from Lincoln's strong hands. He heard the shot just before hearing his own leg break as he impacted the floor below.

This reporters attempts to interview police officer John Frederick Parker have been fraught with frustration and a curious insistence by local tavern owner that The Objectivist pay the officer's extensive bar bill.

At the time of this writing, the President is resting in comfort.
