British magazine: Assange says Jewish conspiracy trying to discredit WikiLeaks - Haaretz Daily Newspaper | Israel News:

"British magazine Private Eye reported in its latest edition that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange claimed a Jewish conspiracy was attempting to discredit the organization. Assange denied the report, accusing Private Eye editor Ian Hislop of manufacturing comments attributed to him.
Private Eye published a report saying that one of Assange’s associates in Russia, Israel Shamir, was a Holocaust denier. In response, the magazine reported, the WikiLeaks founder claimed there was a campaign by Jewish journalists in Britain to discredit the organization.
'Hislop has distorted, invented or misremembered almost every significant claim and phrase,” Assange said in a statement released by WikiLeaks on March 1, apparently referring to a February 16 telephone conversation between the two. “In particular, 'Jewish conspiracy' is completely false, in spirit and in word. It is serious and upsetting.”
“We treasure our strong Jewish support and staff,” Assange said in the statement, “just as we treasure the support from pan-Arab democracy activists and others who share our hope for a just world.'"

Jewish film maker Steven Spielberg has purchased the movie rights to Assange's biography.  Back-in-the-day, Spielberg made a very convincing mechanical shark for the Jaws movies that may have been the inspiration for this crazy rumor.

Speaking of the Jew hating Charlie Sheen, a judge in California ordered his sons removed from the "Sober Valley Ranch", after Brooke Mueller submitted a declaration in which she alleged Charlie said, "I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom"  If true, it sounds like things lots of anti-Semites say and do.

Truther Connections: Don't Believe The Government Edition

My poor little brain and all this conspiracy stuff. I just had the thought of donating a gas torch to Rosie O'Donnell.

Woke just a little while ago and turned on Coast to Coast, a show I haven't listened to for weeks, or at least since the last time I woke up five hours before normal. The first topic: Conspiracy theories. At least this time it is not me bringing up the subject. The guest is interesting, one of the After Disclosure creators.

I think a comment on a Facebook Friend's wall recently was "racism is your get out of logic free card" and that is certainly true whenever some overly emotional person is on a cable news discussion panel. From my recent experience I can add another "the government is your get out of logic free card" and it is true on the internet.

After a week of nearly identical comments from 9/11 Inside Job Truthers fleeing my circle of Facebook Friends and a couple of decades living online, I can honestly say that when someone tells me "you can't believe what the government tells you" then I know they believe any crazy thing any non-government person will feed them. The logic goes like this: the government said we landed people on the moon, someone else says we did not, the government lied, QED.

Allow me to back up a few steps. I am not one to believe what anybody tells me at face value, including people who work for the government. When President Obama gets on the air and talks about how many jobs have been saved or created, I can tell by the weasel words that he is bullshitting anybody listening. When I hear "The Unabomber was a CIA Agent" I have the same reaction as I do to an Obama national address.

The second guest on Coast to Coast tonight is more to my liking. Author David Aaronovitch of Voodoo Histories is giving comforting examples of actual conspiracies vs. imagined conspiracies. I need sleep! He is not making me sleepy, this is interesting!

Unabomber Manifesto 15th Anniversary, Now With Truthers!

It is sort of amazing the difference between the Unabomber buzz in the press when I was a teenager in 1995 vs. when a terrorist is found now. Well, maybe it is not so different and reporters use the same template for all their terrorist stories.


In the 1990's Ted Kaczynski was described as a loner and that his acts of terror were done by him, with no outside help from others.  What else has been described by various reporters the same way recently?
The Times Square Bomber Faisal Shahzad - First he was a Tea Partier who was mad about Obamacare. Next he was a poor soul who was behind on his mortgage because of Bush. He was also a brilliant worker and devoted father who either just snapped or was not capable of building a bomb of this sophistication.  At the same time, he couldn't be a real terrorist because the bomb didn't work. The truth: he was trained in Yemen, missed work often for bomb maker training and was a follower of the New Mexico born imam Anwar al-Awlaki.
Fort Hood, Texas shooter Major Nidal (AbduWali) M. Hasan - Was isolated, did not feel like his superiors took him seriously, his peers picked on him just for being Muslim, was scarred by the horrors of war, it all built up and he just "lost it" and started shooting people. The truth: he was a follower of the New Mexico born imam Anwar al-Awlaki, proselytized to patients and staff frequently enough to be counseled for it and prepared for his act of terror for weeks or months before yelling "God is Great" in Arabic as he shot dozens of people, murdering 13 adults and a baby.


That is just two, I think you get the idea.


Back to the anniversary.  On this day 15 years ago, the New York Times published Industrial Society and Its Future, also known as the Unabomber Manifesto, at the demand of author Ted Kaczynski.  I remember after that it was showing up everywhere on the internet. At least, everywhere geeks like me and my friends used to surf. It seemed like anybody who had webspace to post it had a copy.

These days, I hardly hear a thing about the Unabomber and I do not remember any copycats, thank God. Adam and Dru used to mention him on Loveline sometimes, as a bad example of something, but otherwise I do not remember people talking about him.  The families of the victims, understandably, have been following Kaczynski since his conviction:

The controversy surrounding the release of the documents began in August 2006, when U.S. District Court Judge Garland Burrell ordered the U.S. Marshals Service to auction off Kaczynski's personal property, including redacted writings, typewriters, jackets and several other items. Burrell ordered all proceeds of the auction to go to the victims of Kaczynski's 17-year reign of terror.

Kaczynski was unhappy with the ruling and filed suit to try to stop the sale of his possessions, but in 2009, the decision was affirmed by an appeals court. Burrell directed prosecutors to provide Kaczynski with an unredacted copy of his documents in advance of their sale, The Smoking Gun reported. 

Ever since that ruling, the FBI has been painstakingly scanning all of the 40,000 pages of documents for Kaczynski.

In the article, survivors and relatives are concerned that Kaczynski may publish his writings online and encourage others to follow in his violent footsteps. Personally, I am an advocate of restitution to the victims.  Every single possession, including his original writings, and Kaczynski's prison income should go to them, just as the auction proceeds did.  If the ruling was to give Kaczynski copies of his papers, fine, but he should not have the publishing rights to them. Those should belong to the victims also.

As for the fear that others may be inspired by him, former Vice-President Al Gore is covering all those bases with his massive carbon footprint. Who said it? Al Gore or the Unabomber?

"And tragically, since the onset of the scientific and technological revolution, it has become all too easy for ultrarational minds to create an elaborate edifice of clockwork efficiency capable of nightmarish cruelty on an industrial scale. The atrocities of Hitler and Stalin, and the mechanical sins of all who helped them, might have been inconceivable except for the separation of facts from values and knowledge from morality." If you thought the 9/11 inside-job truthies were new, you are not alone. Lots of people were unaware of the extent and history of conspiracy nuts.  Jews continue to suffer from an old one.  Until I researched this, I had no idea that there were Unabomber Truthers out there. Same script, different imagining and misrepresentation of facts.

9/11 Truthers are Stranger than Fiction

Construction Complete On 9/11 Truther Memorial - World's Finest News Source

UNDISCLOSED—On a remote patch of Kansas prairie believed to fall outside the range of U.N. spy satellites, construction is finally complete on the long- awaited 9/11 Truther Memorial, sources confirmed Wednesday.

Solemn visitors reflect on what the memorial's designers call "the greatest lie in American history."

Funded by donations from dozens of websites and fringe publishers, and dedicated to "the fearless amateur research and bold guesswork" of those seeking to "expose the secret machinations of the world's true puppet masters," the 7,000-square-foot monument has already attracted hundreds of visitors.

"It was a long time coming, but at last it's here," said Don Gustaf, a blogger who drove from Cincinnati to see the site. "This will stand forever in tribute to those who lost their lives the day clandestine CIA operatives used advanced wireless technology to electronically hijack a pair of 767s and remotely fly them into the World Trade Center."

Created by a design team who chose to remain anonymous for fear of reprisals from the Bilderberg Group, the memorial has as its centerpiece the "Truth Towers," a 60-foot-tall replica of the World Trade Center that houses a museum devoted to unanswered questions surrounding the attacks. Below it lies a pentagonal reflecting pool from which emerge 18 steps leading to the base of the monument, with each stair intended to symbolize one of the 18 Great Lies of the 9/11 conspiracy.

"This is a place where Americans can come to reflect on the most elaborate hoax in our nation's history," said Carol Bowerman, 53, wiping away tears as she walked passed a 15-foot granite cylinder representing the cruise missile used to fake a plane crash at the Pentagon. "On this hallowed ground, those of us who refuse to accept the official version of events can mourn the day the United States was taken over by a crypto-fascist cabal more powerful than anyone can imagine."

. . . for the wild-eyed, spittle-flecked conspiracists bloggers—and Assange himself—the charges reeked of a U.S. government plot. And sure, one only need to read the Church Commission report to realize that such dirty tricks have a long pedigree in American intelligence circles. But even a cursory look at the case would suggest that while it appears that Assange’s name is being dragged through the mud, it isn’t by the CIA.

Assuming that Assange knew the identity of his accusers when contacted by prosecutors, he nevertheless told any reporter within earshot that “we have been warned that the Pentagon, for example, is thinking of deploying dirty tricks to ruin us. And I have also been warned about sex traps.” After expressing skepticism that it was an American intelligence job, Harpers magazine nevertheless warned that “as this incident makes clear, the war on WikiLeaks will be fought with unconventional tools and those following the story are advised to accept nothing at face value.”

Amazingly, the bumbling fools in American intelligence managed to flip Anna Ardin, the left-wing feminist (often described in the Swedish blogosphere as a “radical feminist”) spokeswoman for Broderskapsrörelsen, the liberation theology-like Christian organization affiliated with Sweden’s Social Democratic Party (she is not, as I have seen written, a “Christian Democrat”). If any of these subliterate bloggers knew anything about the kristen vänster (but why should you know anything at all, when a simple, ideology-validating conspiracy is so much more satisfying?), they would probably have guessed that Assange's accuser was, as is common in Sweden, operating off of a very broad definition of rape and “sexual molestation.”

. . . Expressen is not a tabloid-style newspaper, but an actual tabloid. Nor is it, as Assange claimed, "right wing." So who would have leaked this information to Expressen? A bit of legwork here too would have revealed that Ardin interned for the editorial page of GT, the Gothenburg edition of Expressen. While there is no evidence to suggest that Ardin herself leaked the material to her former employer, it is certainly more plausible than fingering the Pentagon. But again, why bother doing any research when the sinister conspiracy is more ideologically satisfying?

If you, like many of the conspiracists, are confused as to how the Swedish authorities could issue and then, in less than 24 hours, withdraw a warrant for Assange’s arrest, then you don’t know the Swedish authorities. Just ask the families of Anna Lindh and Olaf Palme for details. Indeed, when one prosecutor overruled the conclusions of another, more junior, prosecutor, she explained to Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter that “My decision doesn’t mean that her decision was wrong.” And to Aftonbladet, she dug in her heels: “That I changed the decision doesn’t mean that her decision was wrong.” Translation? Amateur hour at the prosecutors office.

Moynihan concludes with a well-advised caution about using Google Translate when passing on reports from foreign language news sources.
Sorry, conspiracy gang, it is not a Pentagon setup.  It is a disagreement between individuals on the fringe.

Is this how Jihad Janes are recruited?

Is this a method that middle-east guys use to recruit USAian women for their "cause?"  Seems pretty clumsy, but I can see how others might go for it.  John thinks this guy was trying to work me.

From some facebook discussions that lasted two days.  Starts innocent, then gets weird.

This bit is a little meaningless without some background.  This guy posted to my wall an interest in the books I have helped with.  So, I gave him the link to this blog where John posted where to get everything and pointed out which one was the only one I wrote on my own.

The next day, he writes wanting to know all over again where to get the books and the information was still on my wall in our discussion about that.  (I have since deleted it, wish I had reposted here).  He tells me that he does not have a credit card and wants me to send him a free copy.  He wants to study my book and he likes real stories that people write about themselves.

Well, my story is sci-fi future fantasy and has nothing to do with me or anybody else I know.  It is a continuation of John's characters in a different setting.  So, he asks me if I like gemstones and I tell him that my boyfriend gives me more than I need of those. (This is true, and I adore every one, but I don't wear a lot of jewelry either.)

So, he takes that as a lack of interest in gemstones and begins calling me sir.  These are the two message exchanges I still have.

No name in the United States is "American" unless you are talking about Indian tribal names. All of us are not descendants of the British either. Here, we and our relatives come from many different places.

First, you ask how to get my "books" and I explain to you that I only wrote one and point you where to get them.

Then you tell me a story about not having a credit card and you can't find the link that was still sitting on your wall.

Next, you offer me great deals on gemstones! Right after calling me a man. Such a charmer! Somewhere in there you accused me of being Japanese too. Why did I bother with a profile anyway?

Now, you are trying to tell me that my country needs to just sit and get attacked and that there is something wrong with me for not accepting that?

i will get good job soon, its not a problem for me because im going to canada next year....
But as i said i belong to swat which was the center of terror but believe me nobody knows who were these people....
Even our officials and army officials and intelligencia say that they were funded by america, israel and india....

Let me see if I can still do a good college summation.  Maybe not.

Guy shows his interest in my work by complimenting me for writing stories that have nothing to do with the one story I got published and wants to know where to get a copy.

Poor little fellow doesn't have a credit card, but he is so interested, he wants me to send a free copy to Pakistan, I presume, so he can study me as he stated.

This guy can get me great deals on gemstones!  The guy who does not have a credit card and can't figure out where to buy books in Pakistan while attending a very nice university.  I must be one lucky girl!

On the political front, what a stroke of luck!  I found an insider with Pakistani swat (whatever that is, he mentioned it in chat) who knows all about 9/11 and he is here to educate me.  You see, it was those crafty, nasty Jews and Indians who did it!

Anybody know a good seamstress for my new tailor-made Hijab? ROFLMAO!
