Wikipedia co-founder slams Wikileaks

AFP: Wikipedia co-founder slams Wikileaks:
"KUALA LUMPUR — The co-founder of online encyclopedia Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales, on Tuesday slammed whistleblower WikiLeaks over its release of Afghan war documents which he said could 'get people killed'.
Wales also expressed irritation over the website's use of the term 'Wiki' in its name, which refers to a site that allows different users to collaborate and make contributions.
'I would distance myself from WikiLeaks, I wish they wouldn't use the name, they are not a Wiki. A big way they got famous in the first place was by using the word Wiki, which was unfortunate in my view,' he said at a business conference in Kuala Lumpur."
AFP also quoted Wales to say:

"In the most recent round of leaks, the New York Times for example... actually redacted certain information that could put people in harm's way whereas Wikileaks is planning to publish absolutely everything," he said.
"I think it is really important when we have sensitive information, that we do rely on responsible journalists to sort through it for us... it's much better than dumping all kinds of crazy information online and get people killed," he added."

In another quote, I am not as generous as Wales. I do not know Julian Assange, but his actions do not look like the actions of anybody who cares about anybody but himself and his pet causes.

"It isn't proof of anything but could be enough to get someone killed," he said.
"I don't think Julian Assange wants those people killed, however if he irresponsibly follows the policy of releasing absolutely everything, it's incredibly dangerous for those people," he said, referring to WikiLeaks' spokesman."

US Soldier Describes Thrill Kill of Innocent Civilians in Afghanistan - Video

US Soldier Describes Thrill Kill of Innocent Civilians in Afghanistan - ABC News:
"Dressed in a t-shirt and Army shorts, a 22-year-old corporal from Wasilla, Alaska casually describes on a video tape made by military investigators how his unit's 'crazy' sergeant randomly chose three unarmed, innocent victims to be murdered in Afghanistan.

Corporal Jeremy N. Morlock is one of five GI's charged with pre-meditated murder in a case that includes allegations of widespread drug use, the collection of body parts and photos of the U.S. soldiers holding the Afghan bodies like hunter's trophies."

"All five soldiers were part of the 5th Stryker Combat Brigade, of the 2nd Infantry Division, based at Ft. Lewis-McChord, Washington. In charging documents released by the Army, the military alleges that the five, Staff Sgt. Calvin R. Gibbs, Spec Adam C. Winfield, Spec. Michael S. Wagnon II, Pfc. Andrew H. Holmes and Morlock were involved in one or more of three murders that took place between January and May of this year."
Yet another instance that critics of the US military will falsely cite as 'evidence' that US troops are lawless rogues any psychopaths. When you see the 'lawless' charge, note that they are being tried and it is happening as soon as there was enough evidence to bring them to trial.

Something from the Good Morning America mention of the story that is not covered here, the family of one of the soldiers tried to report the issue to the Army. From the short clip, recorded and edited well after the fact, his parents came across more like anti-war activists than concerned parents.  I am not accusing them of being anti-war activists at all.  There was not enough footage to draw any conclusion like that. However, the way they were phrasing things came off a little more Sheehan-ish than average concerned parents and does not reveal how they went about reporting this to the Army.

Imam Lied, People Died

Listening to the post-Imus show on WABC-NYC and one of the guests is endlessly pointing out that the people of Afghanistan are largely illiterate. From what I understand, this is accurate.  He continues to inform anybody who calls in, and everybody in the studio, that the mob in front of the NATO base, where one person was shot dead while protesting, is the fault of a Gainsville, FL Preacher who had the notion that he was going to burn a few Qurans.

What I really do not understand in his argument is how, if they are illiterate, they found out about this stunt in Florida that hasn't even happened yet?  Sounds to me like someone in Afghanistan is trying to cause trouble.

Wikileaks Founder's Molestation Police Report Leaked: His Top-Secret Moves Revealed

Wikileaks Founder's Molestation Police Report Leaked: His Top-Secret Moves Revealed:
The report certainly supports the "Julian Assange Banged His Groupies" theory over the "Pentagon smear campaign" explanation of his recent sex scandal. We've already heard about Assange's fling with Anna Ardin, the leftist politician who helped bring him to Sweden. The Daily Mail elaborates on the second, younger woman, "Woman B." The 20-something became fascinated with Assange after hearing of Wikileaks' huge Afghanistan war documents leak. According to the Mail, "over the following two weeks she read everything she could find about him on the internet and followed news reports about his activities."

Woman B?

Major al-Qaeda bombing plot unearthed in Canada; two arrested

Major al-Qaeda bombing plot unearthed in Canada; two arrested - World - DNA:
"The arrests were enforced by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) after carrying out searches of two residences on the Ottawa's west side and officers said they were executing more searches and would carry out more arrests.

The arrest of Misbahuddin and Ehsan Ahmed came after police had kept them under surveillance for over two years in a project codenamed 'Operation Samosa'.

Though the RCMP released no names or identities of the suspects, but sources confirmed their names as Misbahuddin and Ehsan.

They said Misbahuddin Ahmed, who was categorised as ringleader, is believed to have been trained in Pakistan and Afghanistan and investigations involved a 'bomb plot'.

'These guys were doing more than just talking about terrorism. They were planning it,' a police source was quoted as saying by the Vancouver Sun newspaper." . . .
This is the second major terror plot to be unearthed in Canada since 9/11. In June 2006, a group of young Muslim men dubbed as 'Toronto 18' were rounded up and prosecuted for planning to attack downtown targets and a military base.

WikiTerrorist Julian Assange To Write For Swedish Tabloid

via Slashdot: Julian Assange To Write For Swedish Tabloid

"Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has signed on as a columnist for Swedish tabloid Aftonbladet. Why such a move? Maybe there's something more to be found in Swedish law when you are employed by a newspaper."

Here's an account in English, including a translation of the interview that forms part of the linked Aftenbladet article.

In case you forgot about the WikiLeaks little gem of deception, how about looking at the rebuttal for a dose of truth.

Why don't they hire Major Hasan, Jihad Jane, and every other treasonous jerk out there - in addition to the WikiTerrorist too?

No direct series tie-in, other than I hope whenever doctored video comes out it is countered with the truth quickly. Also, national security is tighter but not as much is classified in the future.

Wikileaks to release more files (story via WLS-AM 890)

Wikileaks to release more files (story via WLS-AM 890)

LONDON (AP) - WikiLeaks spokesman Julian Assange said Thursday his organization is preparing to release the rest of the secret Afghan war documents it has on file.
WikiLeaks already has published 77,000 classified U.S. military reports covering the war in Afghanistan from 2004 to 2010, an extraordinary disclosure which some say could expose human rights abuses across the NATO-led campaign.
The disclosure also has angered the Pentagon, which has accused WikiLeaks of endangering the lives of soldiers and informants in the field, and demanded that WikiLeaks refrain from publishing any more secret data.

Slashdot | Human Rights Groups Join Criticism of WikiLeaks

Slashdot | Human Rights Groups Join Criticism of WikiLeaks:
'Several human rights organizations contacted WikiLeaks and pressed them to do a better job at hiding information that endangers civilians within their leaked documents. From the article: 'The letter from five human-rights groups sparked a tense exchange in which WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange issued a tart challenge for the organizations to help with the massive task of removing names from thousands of documents, according to several of the organizations that signed the letter. The exchange shows how WikiLeaks and Mr. Assange risk being isolated from some of their most natural allies in the wake of the documents' publication. ... An [Amnesty International] official replied to say that while the group has limited resources, it wouldn't rule out the idea of helping, according to people familiar with the reply. The official suggested that Mr. Assange and the human-rights groups hold a conference call to discuss the matter.''

Well it's about time! Now, how about some outrage for endangering our brave soldiers and allies in the war on terror?

C*A*M*M*O for the Veterans

http://www.cammomusic.org/, check it out and donate.  From their website:

The Beginning
Sean Gilfillan, the co-founder and CEO of To The Fallen Records, the world's only military record label, envisions the creation of a military music community that will focus the world on America's most musically talented service members. Military Music Artists are not receiving the Artist Development needed to succeed in the industry. Veterans interested in pursuing music industry careers in production, recording, managing, etc. are typically not given the opportunity to train and learn in these professions either. He immediately set out to make this a possibility by creating The Center for American Military Music Opportunities, better known as C*A*M*M*O. However, in order to take on a project of this magnitude, Sean had to bring in some expertise.

In the realm of Artist Development, there was no other choice but to bring in Victor Hurtado, a man that had been developing military music artists for the past 20 years and a close personal friend. As a producer/director of the US Army Soldier Show, Hollywood Military Consultant, and expert in all things Artist Development, Victor was the perfect fit to become Chief of Operations for C*A*M*M*O.

Meanwhile, Sean and Victor knew they had to bring in someone who had extensive experience in Veterans issues and Military Non-Profits. Enter Cathie Lechareas. Cathie has been serving the Veteran community for over 30 years after she herself left the military. By being a regular on Captol Hill, heavily involved with Veteran Affairs and within the military community, Cathie was the final piece of the puzzle needed prior to launching a non-profit with this type of high-profile mission and cause.

Now, C*A*M*M*O has set out to raise over $20 million dollars to open its first "Center" in Nashville, Tennessee. Already major sponsors are jumping on board to help, whether they are defense contractors, corporations, music industry professionals or just patriotic individuals who think the cause worthy of their attention, C*A*M*M*O is ready to Rock & Roll.
