Do the Mossad Genetically Modified Sharks have Six-Pointed Lasers too?

This is just too juicy to ignore:

Egypt: Sinai shark attacks could be Israeli plot

Israel rejects the notion as "too ludicrous" for comment; German woman killed near Sharm e-Sheikh, Russian tourists also mauled.

Courtesy climateprogress.org
Here are the best bits:
“What is being said about the Mossad throwing the deadly shark [in the sea] to hit tourism in Egypt is not out of the question, but it needs time to confirm,” South Sinai Gov. Muhammad Abdel Fadil Shousha was quoted as saying by the Egyptian state news site egynews.net.

Israeli officials said the claims were too ludicrous to comment on. Israel has issued an advisory warning against travel to Sinai due to plots against Israelis by terrorist groups linked to al-Qaida.
Form in your own mind which side is expressing the more rational position.  The attack happened in the Red Sea, and according to Wikipedia there are 44 species that populate that body of water.  Egypt has a bustling resort business there too.

Lets connect some dots: sharks, humans, tourist dollars, politics.
But Aviv Levy, a shark expert and the curator of the Underwater Observatory Marine Park in Eilat, said the Egyptians usually engaged in “smoke screening” when it came to shark attacks.

“Something is very strange here. The Egyptians are trying to hide it,” Levy told The Media Line. “This is very bad news for the sharks. It was strange after the first attacks last week and now even more so.”

Egyptian authorities launched a hunt for sharks after four Russian swimmers were mauled at the Red Sea resort last week. Over the weekend, government conservation officials released photos of two captured sharks: an oceanic whitetip and a mako.

The mayor of Sharm e-Sheikh had announced that the beaches were reopened after authorities deemed that the sharks no longer posed a threat and that it was safe to go back into the waters. The sandy resort at the tip of the Sinai Peninsula is popular with European tourists and attracts over 3 million visitors a year.
Shark attacks in the Red Sea are not unheard of, or 'unprecedented' as the popular kids of the MSM would say if Obama were involved.  Nope, suddenly trumping up charges against Israel are more important than covering up shark attacks for more tourist dollars, unless you can keep blaming Israel.  You would think that a shark attack announcement, with Israel's Mossad standing as the accused, might put a dent in tourism to the Sinai.  Not according to the Egyptians:

Israeli travel warning an attempt to discourage tourism:
The governor of northern Sinai, outraged by an Israeli travel warning on the Egyptian peninsula issued earlier this week, claimed Saturday that the warning was an attempt to harm the Egyptian economy.

Abdel Fadil Shusha said Saturday morning that the situation in the area was quiet and secure and that Israel has become used to publishing such travel warnings during Egyptian holiday seasons since the 2004 Taba attacks.
At least he did not say that the warning was to keep Israelis away from the Mossad trained sharks.  Maybe he missed the news from November, when Egypt arrested 25 people accused of plotting terrorist attacks against Israelis in the Sinai?

Not mentioned is the annual UN vote to declare a Palestinian state coming up soon.

Pentagon Struck by Gunfire (19 October 2010)
ARLINGTON, Va. -- Pentagon officials say that gunfire hit the Pentagon Tuesday morning and are investigating parts of adjacent I-395 that face the south entrance. An 11:30am press briefing is scheduled with the Pentagon Force Protection Agency.
At 4:55 am the Pentagon received reports of "shots fired" and closed off access to the entire building. Officials conducted two sweeps of the area, according to Col. David Lapan, Pentagon spokesman. The building was reopened at 5:40am.
Some news outlets report that two shots hit the building.  One on the third floor and one on the fifth.

US Marine Corps Museum Hit by Gunfire (18 October 2010)
Investigators are looking for the person or people who opened fire on the United States Marine Corps Heritage Museum over the weekend, causing $20,000 in damage.
No one was hurt. The museum was empty at the time.
The museum, shaped to evoke the famous flag-raising on Mount Suribachi at Iwo Jima, was struck by several bullets, which penetrated upper-floor windows. Investigators counted five bullet holes in the glass.
The museum is located off I-95, situated on a 135-acre site adjacent to Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, and under the command of Marine Corps University.

Palestinian-American, Army Major Malik Nadal Hasan's Article 32 Investigation Continues.  Followup to earlier story about the devout follower of New Mexico's very own Anwar Al-Awlaki.

The Christian Science Monitor piece gives some insight into the politically correct environment that lead to the destruction of some video evidence of Hasan's terrorist acts:
But even as the trial may be short on Hasan's reasoning, two video accounts of the massacre that may have shown Hasan's demeanor during the shooting will not be seen and judged by the jury or the American public. One soldier testified Friday that a non-commissioned officer ordered him to erase two cellphone videos of the attack. While a "mystifying" and possibly illegal request, says Rosen, he hypothesized that it could have been intended to protect the privacy of Hasan's victims.
But some critics saw the order as evidence that the government, including the Army, is more concerned about protecting Muslims from backlash from angry Americans than revealing the truth behind how modern jihadi terrorism works. They point to the lack of words like "jihad" or "Muslim" in the Pentagon's official report on the Fort Hood massacre as proof that what they see as watered-down assumptions and hedged judgments about the Islamic threat to the US are hurting, not helping, national security.
"This rush to remove from our enemy's actions any suggestion of a possible Islamic religious motive reflects this administration's unwillingness to name our Islamist adversaries," writes a blogger at PipeLineNews, a consortium of conservative investigative journalists. "This is a critically serious threat to national security in that it places blinders on a defense establishment whose job it is to prevent further attacks."
Still, it is a good thing that MAJ Hasan is being tried in a military court, rather than in a New Mexico, San Francisco or Manhattan criminal court.

Jewish Settlers Start West Bank Construction After Freeze Ends

Jewish Settlers Start West Bank Construction After Freeze Ends - Bloomberg:
"Jewish settlers began building in several West Bank settlements hours after a 10-month partial moratorium on construction ended and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Palestinian leaders not to abandon peace talks.

Crews began work early today on dozens of homes in a new neighborhood in the Ariel settlement, municipal spokeswoman Chen Kedem said in a phone interview. Naftali Bennett, director- general of the Yesha Council, which represents the 300,000 Israeli settlers in the West Bank, said construction is also taking place in the settlements of Oranit and Adam.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has said he can’t continue with peace talks that started earlier this month in Washington if Israel keeps building settlements. Netanyahu has said his government doesn’t plan to continue the freeze.

“I hope that President Abbas will continue the talks and continue with me the path to peace that we began three weeks ago,” Netanyahu said in a text message sent to journalists from his office minutes after the midnight deadline that ended the freeze."
The Palestinians threatening to walk if the settlements are not stopped are the same ones refusing to recognize Israel.

Another Dick in the News: Christmas Bombing Try Is Hailed by bin Laden

From the NYT:

Christmas Bombing Try Is Hailed by bin Laden

WASHINGTON — Osama bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda, spoke publicly for the first time about the botched Christmas Day airliner bombing, praising the attempt — but not explicitly taking responsibility for it — in an audiotape broadcast Sunday that was aimed personally at President Obama.
An audiotape boradcast does not check the "spoke pubicly" block for me.  Any word from Fort Hood terrorist/murderer MAJ Hasan?  Same words, perhaps.

Mr. bin Laden said that the bombing attempt was a heroic act meant to recall the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in New York and Washington. He warned that more strikes against the United States were looming because of American support for what he called Israel’s repression of the Palestinians, one of Mr. bin Laden’s recurring themes in his occasional audiotaped anti-West invectives.
Sounds like it was written by Hasan.  Plus, bin Laden has a US President that one would think he would love.  Obama seems to want Israelis to willingly march into the sea.  Maybe not announcing that he wants them all shot is a step too short for bin Laden, so he addressed this tape to Obama.

Oh, for you terrorist embracing PLO, Hamas and Hezbollah loving types.  Stop denying that you are identical to al Qaeda, you are the same.  Okay, there are a few Marxists in your ranks, but everything else is the same.  You get your funding from the same idots who think they are donating to "schools and hospitals"  (honest brokers call them armories and ammunition caches).  You attack civilians as your primary targets.  You are all terrorists and so are the ones who support you.

“America will never dream of security unless we will have it in reality in Palestine,” Mr. bin Laden said. “God willing, our raids on you will continue as long as your support to the Israelis will continue.”

Mr. bin Laden said his statement was “from Osama to Obama.”

The one-minute recording, broadcast by Al Jazeera’s Arabic news channel, was the first time Mr. bin Laden, who is believed to be hiding in Pakistan near the Afghanistan border, had issued an audiotape in four months.
White House officials said they could not immediately authenticate the recording, but did not dispute that the voice was Mr. bin Laden’s. David Axelrod, a White House senior adviser, told CNN’s “State of the Union” that whatever the source, the message “contains the same hollow justification for the mass slaughter of innocents.”

It was not clear why Mr. bin Laden waited nearly a month to say anything about the Dec. 25 bombing attempt on Northwest Flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit, which was carried out by a passenger who sought to detonate explosives sewn into his underwear but was overpowered by other passengers. Federal investigators have said the suspect, a 23-year-old Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, received training and the explosives in Yemen.

“The message delivered to you through the plane of the heroic warrior Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was a confirmation of the previous messages sent by the heroes” of Sept. 11, Mr. bin Laden said.
More at the link above, to include a blurb for an al Qaeda expert quoted by the Times saying bin Laden is not claiming responsibility, he is just praising the December bombing attempt.

Other reports across the internet and on the air report the tape as a claim of responsibility.

Amy Alkon covers this too.

American Muslims Praise Fort Hood Palestinian-American Terrorist

Sorry, Suki had problems playing this from the source on Chrome.  Worked OK on IE 8.0.  Hat tips to Debora Amorino and Networkblogs (that last link is the one Suki had problems with on Chrome).

How can anybody associate with scum like this?  Being on their side is one way, I guess.  They are praising Palestinian-American terrorist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan.

Looks like Rachel Corrie missed out.  This pack is in New York, NY and they call themselves "Revolution Muslim".  At least they are out in the open with it.  Not like the Bund or Muslim Brotherhood, the latter claiming that Hamas just builds schools and hospitals.

Previous coverage of this here.

Yea baby, get that Hijab on.

Gaza wasn't built in a day . . .

Gaza wasn't built in a day and it didn't take much more than a week for the Palestinians to destroy it.

Your thought for the next decade or two.

Pretty freakin' amazing that when the Gazans behave they don't get shot at.  Since they suck at shooting to begin with maybe they should just settle down and stop blowing up Israeli water fountains, or accidentally hitting military targets (that they never aim at) when trying to blow up power stations.

The closest thing to a supportive argument from their backers (this is a follow on to that post) is that Israeli shooting is more accurate than terrorist Palestinian shooting.  Pretty lame.

All sort o' stuff

Amy Alkon has an awsomest view of the Israel in defense of Palestinian wackjobs here:

The Israelis don't want to kill all the Arabs. It's the other way around. And the Israelis live in peace with many people who are not Jews -- any people who aren't looking to murder them for Allah, or whatever.

Meanwhile, on the subject of actual ethnic cleansing, in Darfur, the Revvie is strangely silent. I guess that's because Muslims are killing Muslims. (So inconvenient not to be able to blame the Jews!)

"Leave us alone and nobody gets hurt" should be the Israel motto, as I read on Reason.com/blog

Choice comments from Amy's readers:

Racists like Reverend Wright give blacks going to his church a bad name.

I wish African Americans like Thomas Sowell, Michael Steele and J.C. Watts got more publicity. These guts are good role models for African Americans versus Race pimps like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Louis Farakan.

The whole "Blame the Jews!" is so overrated but the damn thing seems to still have some traction. There's times when I wonder if the whole anti-Semitism thing is just another form of penis-envy. After all, if we look at the Jewish Faith as a whole, the impact of the human existence is far more larger than many other faiths (Including Islam).

On the other side, Blacks "Leaders" used racism statements against Jews before. Al Sharpton did it with abandon in the past. When you have little power, is there a better way to get yourself heard than turning into a racist rabble-rouser?

The lovely Cathy Young from Reason:  New at Reason: Cathy Young on the 60th Anniversary of Orwell's 1984

Even more Reason: The Brown Scare of '09 with the money quote:

So the Department of Homeland Security, a bloated and dysfunctional agency that shouldn't exist in the first place, should spend its time tracking the possibility that a criminal kook with no co-conspirators will decide to shoot a doctor or a security guard? From preventing another 9/11 to preventing unorganized shootings: Talk about mission creep. Yes, these murders are terrorism, but they're the sort of terrorism that can be contained by the average small-town police force. If you try to blow them up into a grand pattern that threatens ordinary Americans, you're no different from the C-level conservative pundits who treat every politically motivated crime by a Muslim as evidence of a broad Islamic threat to ordinary Americans' well-being. (The reliably inane Debbie Schlussel even blames Islam for the Holocaust Museum shooting, despite the fact that the killer is a neo-Nazi, on the grounds that "it is because of Muslims--who are the biggest contributor to the worldwide rise in anti-Semitism to Holocaust-eve levels--that neo-Nazis feel comfortable--far more comfortable!--manifesting their views about Jews.")

More on that:  That "Isolated Incident" at the Holocaust Museum

As you have probably now heard, an 89-year-old anti-Semite with a Prussian junker name (James W. von Brunn) shot and killed a guard at the Holocaust museum this afternoon. Little surprise that he is a 9-11 truther, an Obama "birther," and a neo-Nazi psychopath.

That is all for now.  I had other stuff but I am out and about and did not properly note it to myself.

God, Christ, Jesus, that Palestinian Issue

Listening to the Mike O'Meraha (sp?) show on WJFK.

They just had some guy on with a book, I think, about SOME Muslims hating the US for various reasons.  And other objections with Muslims in general.

Well, I did not hear the discussion, but I am listening to the end of the discussion and I am not sure if Mike, Buzz, Rob and the callers are responding to a single thing the man said or if they are spouting off a load of PC bullshit.

This hits close to home.

While I was on a Friday night date a few weeks ago some sort of Gaza (or something related to the Palestinians) thing came up while I was talking to the best friend of my date.  My response was to the effect of something mentioned by Suki in an earlier post: 'If those people would stop spending their allowance on murdering Jews, maybe Israel would stop blowing up their infrastructure.'

The response was "don't bring that up tonight".  Turns out, the woman I was out with was dating a Palestinian guy, who has not called her in a long time, she fled the US with him, was exonerated of something-or-other that I never got the details on, but her boyfriend cannot return to the US, legally, until sometime next year.  I found out those sketchy details the next day.  Sounded pretty shady.  Did not connect the dots between her and my statement the night before until later.

Well, excuse the shit out of me.  I am anti-Hamas (Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamat al-Islāmiyyah), anti-Hezbollah, anti IRA, and anti-terrorist, in general.  I sure as hell am not anti-Muslim, anti-Irish (maybe a little of that one), anti-Arab nor anti-Palestinian.

My attitude is that Israel will be cool with their neighbors as long as their neighbors don't mess with them.  Seems to be proven in reality.  Someone on Hit & Run used to say their policy was like ours; "Leave us alone and nobody gets hurt."  I agree.

I never bothered finding out if the girl I was out with has that terrorist embracing attitude like her friend, but I ran the phrase past the lady I was out with a couple of days ago.  She did not have a big reaction, but did say she was pro-Palestinian.  No problem there, I am pro Israel, but on the pro-peace side of things and she did not take long to understand where I was coming from.  She is bright, I think the delay may have been due to my phrasing.
